Zuzu LA Lead

Role Summary

We are looking for someone to lead the charge in launching Zuzu in LA this fall. We’re imagining a general athlete with experience in marketing, brand, sales, partnerships/business development and event production who can operate as our eyes and ears on the ground in what will likely be our largest market. They’ll help craft and execute our launch strategy this fall, manage our regional sales rep to make sure we are selling Zuzu into the right accounts, and ensure that Zuzu is on a path of growth and continuous improvement as soon as it goes live on the West Coast.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the founders to formulate revenue targets and broader BD development KPIs
  • Shape and own growth strategy and business development for Zuzu in LA
  • Own relationships with Zuzu’s most important sales accounts and any LA-based brand partnerships
  • Manage a junior sales representative to execute against growth goals for accounts, revenue and in-store tastings
  • Lead Zuzu’s launch event efforts and develop a continuous event-seeding program 
  • Develop an expert understanding of the competitive landscape in your region to determine where Zuzu can improve its operations and selling points 
  • Be the eyes and ears on the ground of what will be our most important market 


Our Ideal Candidate

  • 10+ years of professional experience, start up experience is a bonus
  • Experience in the food, entertainment or media industries is a plus
  • Self-starter with an ability to manage oneself efficiently and effectively
  • Highly organized with great people skills
  • This person must be based in LA with a deep understanding of LA city geography

Part-time Field Sales Rep

Role Summary

The field sales representative is responsible for growing Zuzu’s network of off-premise accounts throughout the LA area and for driving volume growth in existing accounts. The position requires significant time in-market visiting accounts to sell product and educate folks on the Zuzu brand and value proposition.

This position reports directly to the LA Lead


Key Responsibilities

  • Increase distribution by opening new key on and off-premise accounts.  
  • Manage relationships with existing accounts to ensure product is re-ordered, monitor price and ensure proper product merchandising. 
  • Improve velocity in accounts by building displays, sampling (if the world ever gets back to normal!) and educating retail employees.
  • Run tastings and other events to spread the Zuzu gospel!! 
  • Keep an eye on market and competitor trends and provide strategic feedback on how Zuzu can better meet its customer needs.

  • Awesome analytical, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to execute on goals that we set as a sales team. Highly self-motivated. 
  • A killer instinct with strong selling and negotiation skills. You’re a quick on your feet problem-solver. 
  • High emotional intelligence to manage and grow customer relationships. 
  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress. 
  • Must be 21 years old! 
  • This role requires physical activity: walking, bending, stooping and light lifting.

Sourcing + Formulation Consultant

Part-time, Largely Remote

Role Summary

We’re looking for someone to help us continuously improve our citrus sourcing program, build relationships with tequila and mezcal producers, and help run point on developing new, limited run SKUs—potentially in partnership with other high-integrity alcohol brands.


Requirements

This person must have experience (and a network) in the alcohol industry and share our values when it comes to cultivating direct relationships with purveyors, land stewardship and taste.

  • 5-10 hours/week
  • Ideally based in NYC
  • Work is largely remote, with the occasional in-person meeting
  • This position reports directly to Ali + Greta, Zuzu’s founders
